Gibson '57 Classic Pickup Installation

Installed this pickup into an Epiphone Les Paul Pro and had a ball with it. It turned a good guitar into a great guitar. If you play classic rock, this is the pickup to have!

Awesome sounding pick-ups!

These pick-ups came to me from a friend who's Ibanez guitar took a bad drop down some stairs & he gave me the pick-ups as I own the same model as he did but he is elsewhere now & I wanted to hear from the comment here how to install these as the stock pick-ups have a red, white & then the grounding on metal but these have a inner black coated wire with the braided outer so is the read more black hot & braided ground? I really need to get this guitar back together? I cannot afford to have someone install them & I am good at soldiering but wiring codes not so good so anyone? Sweetwater I have bought from before & the item & price was bitchin but then the free shipping blows the mind so looking forward to dealing with them again & only them, great service, responding to question & quick delivery & oh the products you cannot beat anywhere, their top's even the cheapest! Sweetwater

The five stars are for Sweetwater. I know the pick up is great but I also know that if I wasn"t happy with it I would have no problem with Sweetwater because this company is great to do business with.

Good classic tone

I installed this on an Ibanez hollowbody to replace the stock pickups. The stock pickups were weak and lacked the warmth I was looking for in a "jazz box". With the '57 Classic I am now able to get good jazzy tones out of my guitar. At first the sound was brighter than what I wanted, but after a couple of tweaks with the volume and tone controls I was able to get a balanced warm read more tone.

Sweet Tone

So, I recieved a PRS Semi Hollow in a trade and really liked the fit and finish of the guitar. I've been moving towards Jazz lately and just found the stock pickups lacking. I replaced the neck with the 57 classic and the bridge with the 57 classic plus. Yeah, sweet tone. Worth the money, even to have them professionally installed. That is if you dig the tone. Basically neck=jazz read more bridge=blues weird but true both=twang
