Great neck pickup. Opened up my PRS Custom 22 that had dark sounding neck pickup.

Just what the doctor ordered

Recently bought a PRS guitar that had ceramic magnets - never a fan of ceramic I figured I'd give it a try. The treble range was ear splitting harsh on both positions - so I started looking for a replacement. Saw these and was drawn to it due they use Alnico magnets. Boy howdy did it do exactly what I wanted - smoothed out the top end. I think the price is a bit high... compared read more to Duncans or Dimarzios but it's the results that count and these do the job to the letter.

What an upgrade!

Just put a set of 57/08s in my 1990 PRS Custom 24 and WoW! what an upgrade! The other glowing reviews are spot on. The 57/08s give clarity and separation to each string while staying buttery smooth on the neck, and with just enough bite on the bridge. Perfect for blues, jazz, classic rock music, etc. (there are better choices for metal, of course.) One unexpected improvement was read more in the split coil positions, which are finally useful. It"s like getting a fabulous new guitar. I'm glad I did it, and I appreciate my man Dustin Keesbury's help with the decision and fast shipping - it's so easy to buy from Sweetwater!

A great decision

I bought the treble and bass pick ups to replace the original humbuckers on my Gibson CS – 336, i"ve owned three high-end Gibsons and four high end Paul Reed Smith guitars. I"ve always preferred the balance and articulation on my Paul Reed Smith guitars. And I felt that was lacking in the stock pick ups that came with my Gibson. I also wanted the option of wiring the guitar for read more coil tapping. I"ve had my Gibson for over 10 years and it"s always been one of my favorites so I was reluctant to have it gutted and have the pick ups replaced but I can"t be happier with my decision. PRS did a great job at designing a vintage style pick up with the dynamics that I"ve become very used to on their modern guitars. The new 57/08 pick ups have given my CS Dash 336 a great new feel and I love the sound. I really feel like they turned a guitar I"ve had since 2006 into a brand new instrument that inspires me to play it. I get great articulation of notes and both the bass and treble pick ups are balanced really well with great responsiveness from the tone and volume pots. With the addition of the coil tap wiring the possibilities are endless for adjusting the tone. I play mostly jazz fusion, and my current band plays a lot of Scofield tunes. With the drive turned up I also got some great phish like tones when I"m playing jam band stuff. I would recommend these for someone playing heavy metal or hard rock but for just about anything else I highly recommend them.
