Wonderful EMG Neck Pickup
I play lots of melodic arpeggios and complex chords where the clean tone of the pickup is very important to create the magic. I actually have the 60-7 model on my seven string Schecter C-7 Diamond series guitar. I paired it with a Seymour Duncan AHB-3 bridge pickup for the intense / tight high gain tones, and 60-7 for clean neck with rich harmonics and chime. Wonderful combination… read more as it turns out....the middle pu position is very interesting as well...volume does not change much, but the tone has more mid and presence creating a very clean but ballsy lead tone. So the 60-7 is everything i need in my C-7 for a neck pickup. Much better than the 707TW that it replaced, or the 85-7 in my opinion.
EMG 60!
I have found that the EMG 60 is the smoothest, nice ness sounding active neck pick up. I love it...
Good neck pickup
Bought this to replace the 85 I had in the neck. I was hoping for it to be a little brighter but it's definitely cleaner than the 85. Great for clean tones. The ease of swapping definitely bumps the review up. Just plug and play. Would recommend but would probably go with a 67 or 89 in the future.
