I had bought a vintage brand Stratocaster and was neverHappy with the way it sounded it was very weak and tinny sounding . The guitar just sat for about a year so I decided to buy this loaded pick guard to try it out and it totally transformed this guitar it sounds awesome. The guitar gets a lot more use now .... I would definitely recommend trying one out you won't be disappointed

Incredible Tone and Solderless Installation

The stock pickups on my Fender Player Strat are pretty stinkin' good in my opinion, but I wanted something that could give me that same character and depth of tone without all the noise. I'd heard of Mojotone for amp building kits, but I'd not given much thought to their pre-wired pickguards/pickups. Now, a google search will show that there are many different pre-wired pickguards read more out there, but not all of them have a solderless installation system (i.e. you don't have to solder the grounding wires and output jack connection onto the pickguard). This one does. But head and shoulders above that feature is the sound of these pickups! Truly awesome. I thought to myself, "how much difference could the pickups make?" But I immediately heard a significant jump in the quality of sound I get out of these pickups--and I'm just playing on my little blackstar practice amp (also a Sweetwater purchase)! Of course, if you have even a little big of hair on your amp, there's going to be a some amount of noise, but these do an incredible job getting rid of that 60-cycle hum while retaining the character of a single coil pickup. It makes a very big difference and really opens up the use of all 5 pickup positions. There's not much else to say. If you're looking for an upgrade to your mediocre strat, this is where to begin. It'll sound great! Thanks to Jonathan for getting me a great deal on these and for Sweetwater's always-fast shipping.

This setup is a return to Strat sweeteness with some punch!

I have an older '79 Strat that I had put a Carvin bridge humbucker in years ago thinking I was the second coming of Eddie Van Halen. Well now in my older years I realized the error of my ways, plus I have a few other guitars that are more like that anyway. I wanted a return to the original Strat sound but without all the buzz and noise. This setup does the trick. If you have the read more money to spend, it is worth it. These things sound that much better than the originals and 100X quieter, it's pretty unbelievable. I'm a happy old guitar dude with my Strat mojo back. Well done Mojo Tone!

Glad I took the risk on the Mojotone '67 Quiet Coils! Eric Johnson should work with this company!

I purchased a Fender Eric Johnson Signature strat a while back. I personally could not stand the hum and noise out of the stock EJ pickups, especially live. However, I didn't want to sacrifice the godly sweet tone you can get out of the EJ neck pickup. So I was like, "Well, the Mojotone '67 single coils could potentially sound close enough to the '63 ones, so hopefully there is read more not much difference in tone". Not only did I guess right but the Mojotone neck pickup nails the Eric Johnson neck pickup tone and yet adds a bit more body (bottom end) to the sound. The best of it all is that there is absolutely no hum or background noise to speak of during recording or live situations. The guitar is now perfect for recording. When it comes to the bridge pickup the Mojotone is louder with more spank but still sounds great over EJ tunes. This was definitely money well spent. The wiring work on these pre-wired pick guards is nothing short of amazing! Very clean soldering, etc! NOTE: The EJ pick guard does not have 11 holes. You will need to drill and buy extra screws to adapt the pick guard to the EJ strat. Also the pickup cavities of the EJ are not very deep. I had limited room to adjust the height of the pickups. However, I did find a sweet spot (height) without the need to use a router to deepen the cavities.

Great upgrade

I have an American deluxe strat. Originally it was an HSH model, but the humbuckers were disappointing. Couldn't get an authentic strat sound out of it and used primarily high gain to get anything good out of it. I decided I wanted my strat to sound like one, so after researching on YouTube several preloaded sets I decided on this one. Sounds great! Very good old school strat sound. read more Really Nails the Hendrix and gilmour tone.
