Roland AC-33 - 30-watt Battery Powered Portable Amp
Outstanding Amp! Sounds great and has all the bells and whistles!
Super powerhouse in such a light and tiny package
This little amp is AWESOME. See link below for recent show using it in a room about 50'x100' and up to 50 people attending. Natural sound and great for singer songwriter use. The feedback control is transparent and non-tone impacting. The reverb and chorus are super useful. Lucy used a 2 channel switch to turn on and off chorus and reverb (for talking between songs).… read more The chorus is only 2 settings on each channel (wide or space), but its the roland renowned chorus, so both settings are very useful. The reverb is on the master for both channels and very natural and pleasing. You can hear a live demo video on FB at Lucy Lowis Music (she's playing Golden Dandelions at Art Hop)I'd say my ONLY wishes and this is getting greedy :) A third channel so 2 instruments could be used. Stand mount pole pocket built in (I added an external pole bracket). Great work Roland, SERIOUSLY. This thing is LIGHT, ULTRA PORTABLE and sounds fantastic. We've used it for Lucy on her singer/songwriter shows and for vocal rehearsals with full band. Both worked very well.
Roland AC33-30
Just what I was expecting. Love the color!
Amazing Tone and Portability
This exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought this for the battery power and portability, which have proven very convenient. But I have been blown away by the quality of sound, both for vocals and guitar. I did not know a little amp could sound so good. The sound is clear and transparent. The reverb and chorus are gorgeous. And the volume… read more before reaching distortion is impressive for such a small unit, more than I need for busking and small audience situations. I am now considering buying a second one to use with the first for somewhat larger audiences, so I don't have to haul my larger p.a. system around so often. For this purpose, it would be nice if the ac-33 could be mounted on a pole stand, but it's not a big deal. While the looper is fun for simple projects, be aware that it is fairly limited in its features.
Amazing Tone Easy to Carry Accoustic Solution
The Roland AC 33 is a great amp for small gigs and when power is not available all you need are some AA batteries and your set. I do weddings outside and some times all you need is just a little more and this amp is all you need to be heard by a small crowd. I'm very happy with my purchase from Sweetwater TJ Walstrom x1226 took care of everything. I have used the amp on 3 gigs… read more and only received complements on my tone. I use a Jeorge De Zofia A1F Flamenco Blanca with an L.R. Baggs Dual Source pickup system (Element and Mic) and the AC 33 faithfully amplifies the guitar tone. I'm looking forward to playing outside this summer with this amp. Easy set up. I put it up on a regular speaker stand and have a shelf for it to sit on. I only wish Roland Made a case for it. I'm using a case made by Aribia Bags for lights. I have not used the looper yet but will soon get a pedal and try it. The reverb is very usable and for me it's just plug and play. I have the Rosewood and it just looks elegant and clean. Great for small wine tasting rooms, house parties, and wedding receptions. It also has line outs to run to powered speakers or a pa.
