What more can you need
I have a strat with single coils and a prs with humbuckers and they both sing when paired with this amp.I was in a bit of a dilemna as i was torn beteween getting this or an AC30 and im glad i went with the AC15. There are talks about the volume not being enough but that couldnt be more wrong. THIS AMP PACKS A PUNCH. Loudest 15 watts ive ever heard. From my experience the cleans… read more start getting a bit dirty once you start pushing 11 o clock. Past that you start getting into overdrive/distortion territory. However if youre planning on playing in a apartment/house the cleans are more than loud enough, jesus this makes my apartment rumble. There is this grey zone that i get when i run my strat into it with the neck/middle pick up. With the strat it doesnt get distorted until you start hitting 2 o clock meanwhile the prs with humbuckers gets dirty way quicker (12 o clock). This amps sounds amazing and gives you those iconic vox jangly cleans and unless youre a gigging musician that plays medium/big venues you dont need anything bigger than this tbh.
Brilliant
Like some others have said, this is the best amp I've ever owned. It's just magical to play through; I'm in love with the Celestion Blue. It's loud as heck by my standards -- no reason to go with the AC30 unless you are gigging at some serious volume levels, and an AC30 is HEAVY. Generally speaking a Vox is good at one thing -- sounding like a Vox. However within that realm… read more you have a ton of tone-shaping options here, from the hi and low gain inputs on each of the two channels; the Hot Mode which bypasses the tone stack, etc. Running a P90s Les Paul through this is simply the best guitar tone I have ever produced and it's not even close.
Godly amp. 100 stars.
Buy it. The Blue makes this amp a whole other animal. The single greatest amplifier there is IMO. Trust me!
Great amp
I am very pleased with the amp and the superior treatment I've been getting from sweetwater....Mr . Hunter have been taking care of my needs for years now and I'll tell you, there is no complaint here....thank you again!
Vox AC15HW1X
Awesome sounding Amp in-spite of the amp being hand wired in Vietnam. To my knowledge, the no Vox amps being produced in the U.K. The true sounding "BlueBell" speakers that produce that authentic "Vox sound" are however manufactured in the U.K. I can only presume that final production/assembly is also in Vietnam. Again a great investment for an awesome sounding amplifier.
