The first amp arrived DOA, so it went back. The second amp would pop and buzz very loudly. Sam at Sweetwater did a great job taking care of me. They retubed the first amp that they sent, and shipped it out. That amp is simply amazing. I've been waiting 23 years to own this thing. It gets the Beatles sound easily. The best thing about this amp is how well it takes pedals.… read more I get some of the most amazing overdrive tones with my pedal selection. So much that I essentially have an amazing clean Vox with an amazing Marshall drive. It can cover Beatles, Oasis, Green Day, Praise and Worship, and so much more. I finally have the tone that I've been wanting for so long. No exaggeration. I also really like the ability to change from 15 to 30 watts. The 15 is all I use. FWIW I play a Gretsch CG and a 335 with some really nice pedals.

I have always wanted an Vox AC30 because so many of my favorite bands have used them (the Beatles, and early U2, just to name two) and I cannot get over how amazing this amp sounds.The clean tone is gorgeous and the distortion is beautiful. After playing on the Vox AC3-HW2X this same model here, but mine has the standard all black covering, it still plays crisp, clear, and most of all has the ring of the British Amplifiers. I love playing Beatles and British Invasion music, and this amp provides me the range and tones to emulate all the tones of this era. I've had many AC 30 amps WITH all DIFFERENT SPEAKERS. This HANDWIRED ac might not be built where I would have liked.But I CAN'T IMAGINE that ANYONE could have built it any better.I have the blues in the ac 30.plus I run it in to a MARSHALL 100 WATT CAB THAT HAS THE GREEN HENDRIX'S SPEAKERS 20 WATT.IF I GET THIS THING UP TO 5 IT IS UNBELIEVABLE I GET THE BREAK FROM THE BLUES AND… read more THE GREENS AT DIFFERENT LEVELS HARD TO EXPLAIN.
