Slick little box
I bought it to use with headphones without bothering anyone. It has a nice, full sound with my SG using clean mode and the lowest reverb setting. Certainly good enough for practice.
Wow
I've had this for two years and loved the convenience and portability of practicing silently anywhere. I never realized how good the sound quality was before, until I just recently bought a new set of Sony MDR 1AM2 headphones, plugged them in to this tiny battery powered amp , and was totally blown away by the quality of the sound. ( Headphones connected to a portable guitar amp?… read more Yes!!! And you can use the headphones for great listening for anything else. They are phenomenal.)
Very Nice Sound
This AmPlug Clean micro amp has a very good, clean natural guitar sound with both my Les Paul and Fender Strat Ultra. I also own the Fender Mustang micro amp, and I can definitely say that the Vox sounds way better compared to the "clean" models of the Fender Mustang. The controls are simple.....Gain, Tone, Volume, a few effects, and 3 clean amp models. My only "like to have"… read more would be a USB rechargeable battery. It does eat batteries.
VOX clean earplug amp
I'm new to playing. Although I pick things up quickly and have heard lord of music this gem blows me away. If it continues to deliver I'll be telling everyone whose interested!
Amazing little "amp in a tiny box"!
II boundd I bought this (November 2019) to use when I practice in the evening so as not to disturb our neighbors (or my wife) as we live in a very quiet neighborhood on a small lake. Sound travels quite a distance here, even with windows closed, especially in the evenings when the neighborhood is really quiet. I need to be able to play fairly loud, through my pedals so I can dial… read more them in for the different songs we will be playing on the weekend (church). Before I got this little ampPlug, it was a challenge to practice in the evening at a volume level needed to push the pedals. So I thought I'd give the ampPlug (clean version) a try. I plugged this into the last pedal in my chain (where I'd normally run a cable to my amp), plugged in my headphones, and WOW! I was blown away!! It far exceeded my expectations! When I'm working on the songs for the weekend, I usually have the original song, or backing tracks, running through my iMac and pro monitor speakers which I play along with. Of course, this adds to the overall volume blasting out of my music room: my guitar and amp at high enough gain to drive my pedalsI and the tracks or song playing at similar volume through the monitors. I can't do this in the evenings (so far, no one has complained about my "noise levels" during the daylight hours!). In order to hear the backing tracks/song thru the ampPlug, I ran a ⅛" mini jack cable from my iMac to the Aux-In of the Vox ampPlug, and it sounded great! Dialed in the volume settings on my computer and the ampPlug, and I was in business! I was able to practice all my music and dial in my pedals without bothering any neighbors or, more importantly, my wife! ;
