Best Humbuckers I ever played
Sweet! Beautiful sounding, vowel toned pickups that have a slight grawl to them. These are not modern sounding pickups. These are slightly funky in a really cool way. I've had a set in my Les Paul since 2008. I wouldn't change them out for any other current set out there. These are vintage sounding pickups at their best!
Seymour Duncan Antiquities
Sunk a Seymour Duncan Antiquity in the bridgevof a 58 reissue. A little hotter than the stock pickup.Smoother highs, thicker sounding, less pick noise. Very happy with this purchase.
Just as needed
They sound great. Wish they offered different trim ring color, Black and Cream would work..
New pups
First off Bob Furlong is one of the best all around helpful Sales engineer I have had the pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable in all areas of the music industry. As for the new Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbuckers. I could not be happier. They bring the nice warm classic tones out of my Les Paul Standard that I have been looking for. 5 STARS PAUL
A revelation.
Not sure why the non-aged covers set is more expensive. OK, here's what I'm NOT a fan of:1) The fake relicing, down to making the pickup screws rusty, and giving you slotted-screw adjusters. The only reason I went with these was duh, they were $... cheaper.2) The (authentic, but still) braided wiring cover that serves double-duty as the grounding. Sometimes older isn't necessarily… read more better. Soldering those puppies onto the pot covers was not fun. Took a lot of patience. What I AM a fan of: 1) Fantastic, electronically simple replacement for any humbucker set. I popped these in to a 1979 Ibanez Artist and and the difference is night and day over the non-stock five-wire Heritage humbuckers that someone else put in there. These have so much clarity, power and drive that they turned the Ibanez into something where you'd have a really hard time telling difference between it and a vintage Les Paul. Which is what I was shooting for. Mission accomplished.2) The bridge pickup is brighter and more aggressive, but still has the body I want to keep the sound substantial and muscular. And notes are so clear no matter what drives I throw at it! And what can I say about the neck pickup? I pretty much live there. This guitar is now a tone monster.I was looking between these and the Pearly Gates set and I'm glad I went with these. I can't wait to play these live. CANNOT go wrong.
