Good Quality Vintage Style Pickup
The Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck humbucker is a good quality low output vintage style pickup. The fact that it is unpotted is not much of an issue; I have had no issues with excessive feedback or squealing even with high volume and gain. It is very clear and airy, very similar to the sound of the Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker which is alnico V. Pickups are like flavors and everyone's… read more taste is different, but I think the Antiquity could do with a bit more midrange, more akin to the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro. The pickup's weakest point is the antiqued finish which looks artificial and unconvincing close up; the string wear lines appear painted on.
Replaces 50’s era guild Pup
This replaced an original Guild pickup on a hollow body I picked up at an estate sale. Unfortunately I could not save the original electronics. At Ben"s recommendation, I purchased the Antiquity pickup. It looks period correct, not too shiny. Fit in the existing hole and used the same wiring scheme. It sounds gorgeous. Lush cleans.… read more It's absolutely the best bang for buck if you're looking for affordable/superb paf tone. A lot of the magic comes from it not being wax potted IMO. Very dynamic and respond well to the vol. knob being adjust or pick attack. You can't go wrong with these!
Pickups really breathed new life into my Epi. Dot
Recently replaced my Epiphone Dot series pickups with the Antiquity bridge, and neck pickups. Definitely made a big improvement in the clarity of the guitar.
Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers
Just put the Antiquity set in my Tele, Mahogany body, quartersawn maple neck, ebony fretboard, and man this is the perfect blues humbucker set. I couldn't be happier, replaced a $400 set of BareKnuckles and I can honestly say these are 10 times more beautiful sounding, detailed singing highs, and crisp defined lows. I am quite shocked, I play mainly blues and blues based classic… read more rock with alot of extended jamming and the character and voice on these humbuckers takes me right back to the blues, Zepp, Skynyrd, a very nice bright yet soft tone, clear as a bell, almost like a great single coil but with bite and balls. I am ecstatic, thank you Seymour Duncan and thank you Sweetwater.
