Amazing in my Junior
I dont usually write reviews but i took the plunge and slapped it into my new 2020 Gibson Junior and oh boy. The darker un-defined stock pickup was ok but ive bought and sold 4 different Gibson p90 guitars over the years. Now had i installed these, I would have ended my p90 search long long ago..... Now to put a set of soapbars into my Special. These have the magic p90 tone you… read more always hear about. Dirty, mean, raw but you can still hear every defined note. Roll back the volume and it cleans up. Dig in it becomes a flamethrower. Amazing pickup!
Authentic Vintage Tone
I auditioned other P90s by Lollar, Fralin, etc and these came the closest to that 1949 Gibson ES125 jazz tone I love. Humbuckers are muddier than P90s, these are warm with clarity. The ideal pickups for me. And the look classic.
Pick up
Great clarity when playing clean and distortion. Real cool vintage sound and very responsive . I would like to add that this was my first time using Sweetwater and I have never had such amazing customer service thank you to the Sweetwater team you were amazing will difently be getting all my business.
The Perfect P90
The Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90 is an incredible pickup! Packaging is perfect. The box is tolexd in a vintage cream color. The pickup is built, wrapped, and packed perfectly. I put the pickup into the route on my Epiphone Les Paul Junior 57' Reissue. The pickup is a hair bigger than the pickup route, but the pickup needed shimmed so that didn't matter much. The "aging" on the… read more dogear cover is interesting. I kind of wish they would have aged the pole pieces a bit. The tone of this pickup is monsterous. Playing through the Friedman BE-OD pedal, this pickup/pedal combination sounds just like the 70's cranked Marshall tone. It has a very vintage p90 vibe. I replaced the stock p100 pickup because it was just bland. After adding the SD, it sounds better than the vintage LPJ's I've played!
