I ordered this because I kept hearing that it was a very clear but warm sounding pick up. I have tried several different pickups in the bridge of my Les Paul and they all sounded a bit too bright for my taste. I wanted that fat screaming warm but Crystal Clear Tone that I had in my head that my Les Paul was supposed to sound like. I ordered the AT-1 and I installed a chrome cover,… read more dropped it in the bridge of my Les Paul, and Wham! instant tonal bliss! The notes ring as clear as a bell, while still being extremely warm fat and punchy. It actually paired extremely well with the 57 classic that is in the neck of my Les Paul. I was worried that they would Clash in tone but they complement each other beautifully. This pickup has some similarities to the Gibson 498t and the Seymour Duncan JB. But it has a much smoother more balanced tone, not nearly as harsh or grainy and just overall sounds bigger. Thank you Sweetwater, and thank you DiMarzio. And most of all thank you Andy Timmons!
