Quilter Aviator Mach 3 Combo

I've owned a Quilter 101 reverb with the 10" speaker. Just needed a little more. The Aviator Mach 3 combo is it. After owner many modeling amps and being somewhat disappointed. Quilter has made a solid state amp that is very close to a tube amp response and feel. Sounds great with single coil pickups and humbuckers! Loving it!

Tone Monster

I don't know what voodoo they have going on at Quilter but it is working. This is one of the most incredible amps you can buy. It's ridiculously light, it has excellent tone shaping, and it is crazy, stupid loud. When you hear how loud it gets, you forget that it is only 21 lbs. This thing punches way above its weight. It can easily keep up with a loud rock band with a heavy read more hitting drummer. Every amp setting sounds uniquely excellent with single coils, P90s, as well as Humbuckers. You can go from a beautiful clean spank all the way to a meaty, chewy Marshall plexi (the demos I've seen on YouTube don't do it justice). The built-in effects are fantastic. The distortion interacts with the amp gain beautifully, the reverb pristine and very usable across all settings, and the tremolo is on point. The inclusion of the effects loop further broadens the scope of what this amp can do. For example, insert a Helix, and you have a versatile 200 watt power amp available for modeling, if that's your thing. There is so much about this amp that I love. This is the first amp I've ever owned that just had the clean and gain tones I love built right in. I highly recommend it. Quilter has won me over.

Last amp I'll buy for quite awhile

I bought this amp having already purchased an Aviator Cub. I love Pat's amps, and this one is the crown jewel. It's light, takes pedals well, and is extremely versatile. The "sweet" voicing is based off of a Dumble ODS, and feels like it's "my" sound. My only real complaint is I don't love the Fender Voicings, but the other 3 are superb. The amp is lightweight, can get as loud read more as you need it to, but still sounds great at lower volumes. It truly is the last amp I'll need for awhile.

Amazing!

Great tube sound without the tubes. This amp has it all. Truly unbelievable sounds and it's all analog circuitry except the reverb which sounds stellar. Two separate identical channels so that you can set it up for true channel switching via Quilter's optional 3 button selectable footswitch. Takes pedals and modelers really well but you probably won't need them unless you're looking read more for a special effect. The perfect grab and go amp for gigging or jamming. This is definitely the most versatile Quilter made people that are strictly guitarists. Highly recommended.

Problem solved

Fighting the "volume war" is no fun. When you are asked to play at a low volume, even if you are using a master volume amp like I was, your tone suffers if you have to set it too low. I had seen a few players using Quilter amps in my area and was impressed. I received my Mach 3 on a Wednesday and used it at a four set gig on Saturday. I brought a small pedalboard with a tuner, read more a fuzz, and a Leslie simulator, and that was all I needed. It takes pedals very well and the onboard reverb and tremolo are some of the nicest I've ever heard. I also found it very useful to be able to switch between amp settings to achieve different feels for different songs. As you can achieve great sounds at low levels this has also become my "at home" amp. Very impressed. And it weighs 21 pounds? Game over.
