Ok. Here is a lengthy review for this capo. Seems ridiculous but I have a lot of time on my hands right now. I have multiple iterations (read as colors) of this capo even before ordering from Sweetwater. I just loved them that much, I had to get more. I have departed from using other capos when I got these. Looks: I find this to be the sexiest, classiest looking capo I encountered. read more When I first saw this on the shelf, the aesthetic appeal drew me to it immediately - simple, streamlined, elegant. (It also looks like a pterodactyl head - see photo.) Ease of use: the curves are ergonomic (attached is a picture with my hand) they seemed to shape this capo purposely for comfort. It is a one-handed operation to apply and remove it. There are no square/sharp edges which makes it wonderful to handle. (It does not hurt as much as a lego when you accidentally leave this on the floor and step on it, just saying.) Versatility: I have used this on the following guitar types: Nylon-stringed guitar with flat fretboard, Steel-stringed acoustic guitar with curved radius fretboards, Electric guitars with C, D, U shaped necks… and even a 12-string (Which is beyond the scope of this product). No intonation / buzzing issues on the 12-string whatsoever. It functions as expected when used within its design. Beyond that, I play with this sometimes as a hand-grip-exerciser-thingy (PSA: though tempting, it should not be used to prank-pinch the nose of your significant other, apparently) Build quality: This feels solid, robust, and durable. The spring tension is as strong as when it was new. Overall, it still feel fresh after months of (ab)use. It feels more well-built than the traditional capo. The pivot point is very much intact with no loosening, squeaking, or twisting. Instrument protection: The rubber pads extend to the fulcrum point to ensure that it won't scratch your instrument if used correctly. (I say IF because I tried to use this as a partial capo - a bad decision on my part) Rattling issues: when clamped onto the headstock, it rattles when the metal parts of the capo come into contact with the metal tuners. This is also an issue with other metal capos. The solution is shown in the pictures to avoid this metal-metal contact (between rows of tuners). Better yet, I take it off the guitar when not in use. This isn't an issue for me. Limitations: This cannot be used as a partial capo (unless you want it flying off your guitar). Sometimes, at higher frets the arms get in the way of playing. Others: May potentially cause envy from other guitarist friends who are unaware that this capo exists, and thus makes for great gifts. So there, all you need to know about this overlooked accessory. Thanks for hooking me up with these, Sweetwater, your service is really great.
