Black Beauties
I was skeptical when a friend recommended these to me, having been unimpressed with coated strings in the past. That said.... I put a set on my Epi Masterbilt fingerstyle and have played them for 2 years without an appreciable loss in tone. The black coating is literally gone over the sounhole, but they still sound as great as the day I put them on. I've had numerous players comment… read more on the great tone. They sound great playing slide as well; the coating seems to reduce some slide noise. I don't know when they will die, but I'll be putting on another set when they do. I also use the DR Pure Blues on both my Strat and Tele, and they're awesome as well.
