They sound dead and feel super weird
I've used normal DR strings in the past and loved them. I bought these after reading the marketing. It's BS. The strings feel super weird sound really dead. Most disappointed I've ever been in a pack of guitar strings.
Look cool! But worse strings I’ve ever put on my axe!
I bought these because I thought they would look cool, and the manufacturer's claims. What a let down! These strings are the most weird feeling, worse sounding strings I have ever played! Save your money!
Love em
I've been using DR strings every since I discovered them. Prolly ten (10) years ago. Absolutely love em! They're on all my electric guitars and basses. I highly recommend them, if you haven't already, get em, play em, love em !!!
Very Weird Strings
I normally use Elixir, but decided to try these. Followed directions for installing, and was pleasantly surprised with the tone. Just the right amount of warmth for me. If I was judging strictly on tone, I would give 4.5 or 5 stars. But my first concern was the feel. They were not slick, but had more of a matte type finish with a gripping type feel, which was far slower on lead… read more playing for me. But I did enjoy playing chords on them. The little extra grip helped hold my fingering as I do sometimes get sloppy. After playing leads for about :30 min I noticed the strings starting to feel very rough. The black coating was chipping off, and my fingers were really feeling the roughness! The coating is like paint and comes off with abrupt edges. (See pictures). The other issue I found, was that it was almost impossible to keep these in tune. Don't know why, maybe the coating? Now, maybe I got a really bad set of strings, I don't know. But I won't use them anymore. After about 1 & 1/2 hours of play time, they went into the trash.
