I was excited for these, and I liked them for a while, but once the coating started to chip and peel after a few hours, I got bummed. Admittedly, I pick harder than I should, but it should have taken a few days. Also; they can't hold tune. I have a fixed bridge, and they don't hold tune for a day. Look cool but sound completely lifeless.

I don't know if it's just a bad batch or bad set or something but the strings I ordered and put onto my PRS 7 string sounded completely and utterly dull and lifeless, almost like when a string is very dirty and grimy and loses all of its brightness and shimmery quality, and their sustain is terrible and are even too quiet, almost muffled. I've checked my nut and bridge, no problems,… read more even wiped them down with some string cleaner with no changes. I've never had issues with other strings on this guitar like the Elixirs I usually use. In fact the Elixir coated strings that have been on my 6 string for months sound much better than these. I can't speak for their longevity as I'll be replacing them soon with my usual Elixir Nanoweb set. I can at least say that the black coloring is fun and looks great and is the only reason I'm not rating these a 1 star, as I've used other color strings that ended up looking cheap and chipped very easily.
