Black Winter
I installed Seymour Duncan Black Winters on my Schecter Omgea Extreme. You can hear the note breath playing the blues and scream their lungs out shredding scales.

Gutted an Epiphone Les Paul Standard put in a pair of Black Winter pick ups from Sweetwater got them in Ontario Canada next day guitar is a beast now lipstick on a pig "whatever" new pots and caps it rocks. Thanks Sweetwater great service
Fantastic - if you like scooped mids metal
i was using sd's livewire dave mustaine set before i installed these into my gibson custom lp.. i use a mesa dr and mesa cab, fronted by a pisdiyauwot distortion pedal in front of the red channel.. i had to scoop down the mids a bit more to get the grit out of the high mid frequencies ... and oh boy now does it sound fantastic.. mids scooped but articulate nonetheless.. great growl… read more even at standard E tuning.. insane pickups.. the bridge and neck are quite different.. the neck pickup is very warm, and thus these pickups are for more than just death metal.. very versatile.. i def recommend to anyone who wants anything from hard rock to scorching metal... 5 stars
HELL SENT
Sick pickups for any style of music! Very responsive, punchy and singy all at the same time. I play in Bb on my Dean ML, and these pickups hold my low B VERY well, and my treble strings just cut right through! Definitely would buy again!
Definitely the Black Metal sound!
If youre looking for the Black Metal sound, these pickups are the ones you need! Maybe not as versatile as lets say a Nazgul/Sentient or Pegasus/Sentient set but they do excel at what they are designed to do. Dont expect a powerful, scooped thumping bass response with palm muted notes or chords. They are mostly not tuned for that type of playing. Black metal music is mostly comprised… read more of rapid strumming and single note lines. You may want to listen to some Black Metal on YouTube to get a feel for what these pickups sound like. Having said all that, I wouldnt characterize the Black Winters as a one trick pony either. They are capable of a wide variety of tones. They just arent tuned to get that low end thumping pick attack. Conversely, the sound is very treble/midrange oriented. I gave the Black Winters 5 stars because they achieve the Black Metal sound so well without having to adjust your amp settings all that much. Which is nice if you have multiple guitars and other styles of music that you play. And, the fact that they are named after an actual Black Metal song conveys the very specialized purpose of these pickups.
