I've been thru countless pickup sets and combos. I finally spent the money and picked up the Black Winter pickups with the trembucker bridge to accommodate my Floyd. Absolutely stoked on the tone and output, huge improvement and worth the money!

The best investment for my guitar

I had always been skeptical about what a pickup can change from one brand to the other or within references, until my black winter trembucker bridge and humbucker neck arrived and replaced my stock duncan designs. I got them due to the reviews everywhere and (yeah black metal fan here) the kind of music I'm into, now I realized the difference and cannot be happier with the results! read more The reviews were not kidding very versatile, clean sound: gorgeous; heavily distorted: a triumph. If I ever change my guitar I'd make sure I get another black winters for it, hands down.

I've always loved Seymour Duncan Pickups & their Black Winter pick ups are no exception. I was looking for something very different for tracks that have a darker feel. The BWs are very dynamic and I use them for every rock style. Great for rythem & downright nasty on lead. These create very eerie auditory tonal hallucinations. Especially strange when you cut the tone knob to kill read more the treble with heavy distortion & reverb. They are pretty hot with the tone up for being NA. They sound good clean but to me were made for high distortion hell raising. They're uniqueness makes them one of my favorites to record or gig with. Plus pinch harmonics will face melt during solos. I drop every string a full step & these give me a demented tonal worble on the low & equally creepy screeches on the high. All in all if you like interesting & unique tones & phrasing (you should) then get these. Great price amazing value. Like good rock these are beautifully dangerous & dementedly dapper

Obviously by its name, this pick up is for pretty brutal stuff, but I can honestly say that yes it is amazing at metal runs, and even in the neck position, it picks up harmonics better than my old charvel actives, but with a tweak of the volume knob it cleans up really well really fast. I've gotten literally any possible genre of tone you could think of with these pups and they read more are really good at all of them!
