More than a compressor

To be fair if this pedal was just the compressor I would have returned it. Had to get a lot of squish, even with the blend and comp knobs cranked. The fact you can use the EQ independently (it is a pain to hit both switches at once tho) and the Bloom boost make it feel like 3 pedals. Even with "extreme settings" it is a sublte compressor effect. Not good enough to push my Deep Six read more off the board but a good "Tone Shaper"

This is the pedal you did not know you needed. Three pedals in one can sometimes be a matter of compromise. That is no the case with the Bloom. The compressor is far beyond any others i have owned such as the philosophers tone, exotic SP compressor, JHS tighty whitey, or a MXR dyna comp. There is a compression mode and adjustments for everyone's tastes. The EQ function is great. read more So good in fact i have no need for a dedicated EQ anymore. The icing on the cake is it's boost function. A very handy option when you need a little extra umph. The pedal plays great with drives, fuzz, and modulation. All controls are self-explanatory with no steep learning curve. Construction of the pedal is very good. This pedal is a Sherman tank. It is not a cheap purchase by any means but when you factor in that your get three high quality pedals it is quite reasonable.

This is a "never leave your board" type of pedal

This device has been an enormous help! First off, the compressor and its presets are great and versatile. The best compressor I've had on my board (not to bash any others - JHS Tighty Whitey was on my board for the longest time and it was absolutely great). The EQ not only helps me tone shaping but with guitar changes! My music is all over the place requiring the use of different read more instruments. So, if the settings on my amp(s) are dialed and the guitar I bring in boosts the low end, i can cut that with this EQ and it's perfect. Lastly, the BLOOM Boost! What an amazing addition to this compressor/EQ pedal. You can either ramp up the boost or engage it immediately. When engaged with the other functions, all parameters are maintained and work well together. So glad Sweetwater brought Jackson Audio onboard! I've owned the Prism for years now and it has also never left my board / set up. Cheers to you guys!
