Fantastic usable no color compression
I am a tone freak...totally. Just hearing something that bothers me in my tone absolutely can drive me nuts. I also love the feel of compression...but so many compressors color the tone...shapes the amp EQ differently. I watched one video on this compressor and knew I needed it. I own one other optical compressor pedal and I like it, but this one floors it. The adjustability is… read more insane. And BTW i do not play country music. This is great for the Funk Rock Fusion band I am in. If you are looking for clean, no coloration compression, grab one. It is absolutely one of the finest feeling compressors out there. The vibe is right, the price is worth it, and you will be happy if you already are satisfied with your guitar and amp tone. Mitch Dazey is the man, always helps me out! \mm/
Fantastic compressor!
What a great little pedal! Love it. Confused about the various types of compression, I asked Brandt Miller at Sweetwater to recommend a pedal compressor – something transparent, responsive, not too squashy, for arpeggiating picking but not "averse" to the occasional creamy chord tone. Brandt gave me a welcome dissertation on the history of compressors, and then he recommended… read more Jackson Audio's Bloom and Blossom. I could not be happier. Sleek metal box of high-fi constraints at the beginning of the chain makes it all sound so much better. Thanks, Brandt.
Optical is the way to go!
I've never been able to dial in a compressor to my liking, something was always off to my ears. Started thinking I just didn't like compressor pedals, especially with humbuckers. Tried the Ego for a while and also the Tranzformer GT. Got this Jackson Audio Blossom on sale at Sweetwater and I could not be happier. It does everything I've wanted in a compressor and it's so easy to… read more dial in and it's compact and built like a tank! I got it for my acoustic because I run a passive pickup and needed some sort of optical compressor for DI gigs. I wanted something to let my acoustic breathe but control the bursts. I could not believe how crisp everything sounded but still tamed the high B and E string pops. I was so impressed with the results from my acoustic gig I thought I'd give a compressor another go on my electric rig and I'm ecstatic with the results. The EQ knob is extremely useful for taming the bottom end and adding bite as well as the LED changing color to show the amount of compression. I'd be very surprised if this isn't the next big compression pedal darling on the market for the price and quality.
Great little pedal
This is a great little pedal. It does the function of two of my previous pedals (EQ and Compressor), while using very little space on the board. Its very lively, and the controls are intuitive. Love it.
