Extremely Versatile!
This Fender Blues Junior is an absolutely excellent small compact guitar amp with lots of tube tones for various guitar styles. No complaints whatsoever! However, I bought this with something else in mind- it is also an excellent small compact bass amp. I have a Hofner 500/1 Violin bass, and it sounds outstanding with this amp for small venues. It really magnifies that Hofner Beatle… read more sound for classic rock, and I am very pleased with this purchase. Now that's what I call versatile!
Great Small Gig Amp and TONS of TONE!
I just purchased this amp for an outdoor gig with a full band and where two other guitarists on stage were using VibroLux 40w amps (one vintage, one reissue)and this thing was able to hold its own! Granted the other amps were not fully dialed in volume-wise, but the Blues Junior cut through the band mix like a light saber through a wampa's arm. With a Strat this thing is super… read more "chimey" and quacky as you'd like to get. With an LP (P90 in the neck, Filter-Tron in the bridge), I am able to get an array of tones that ranged from thick and full to hot and searing. The amp takes pedals really well. I get what people say about the "boxy" sound that it has but I feel its the amp's signature and should be embraced. Definitely not a bad thing when you need to cut through a band mix but if you're a bedroom rocker or want it for home practicing, then maybe you'd want a different sound.
Wow
Just got this Saturday and I can't stop playing it. The tones it can produce are so diverse and pleasing. I like to play blues and this amp is perfect for me. I have a spark and a katana 50 and their sound is put to shame by this amp. I can run the master volume at about 2 and the volume set to achieve the tone I want without it being very loud. If you turn up the master it keeps… read more the tone but just gets louder. I am super pleased with this amp for my needs. Just Love the tones I get and the the fullness of the speaker.
Great sound!
This is the first tube amp I have bought and the sound is so much better than previous amps I've owned.
Vintage sound, Vintage looks!
Exactly what I wanted and expected from Fender and Sweetwater. I love the tones and the looks of this little amp, just what I need and wanted. It arrived packed securely in a Fender box. Unlike all of my other Sweetwater deliveries this delivery took about a week thru Fed Ex, not sure why. The Blues Jr. Is a great match for my Esquire and my Teles.
