Good Overall Pickup
This came standard in my Paisley Esquire. The concept is great to add a "secret" pickup under the pickgaurd in the neck position. This pickup sounds great! The only issue is the volume drops off significantly when you switch from the bridge to the neck. If you have a telecaster, look elsewhere for a neck pickup, but if you have an Esquire and want to add a "hidden" pickup, this… read more will work great!
Dial it in
At first it sounds weak for an 11k Ceramic pickup, but once you dial it in you'll get some pretty sweet and unique tones from this thing. Get this if you want a unique tele neck tone and like the esquire aesthetics. Look elsewhere if you're wanting a traditional sounding tele neck pickup.
Weak and bland
I paired this on my telecaster with a Seymour Duncan Five-Two, which comes in around 6.7k if I remember correctly so, not extremely powerful for a telecaster bridge pickup. The secret agent doesn't have much personality, it doesn't sound bad.. but it certainly doesn't sound good. There's a volume disparity between my bridge pickup and this pickup that I can't make up for. I like… read more and use Seymour Duncan pickups quite a bit, but couldn't recommend this one in particular
