Tone sweetener!

I wasn't sure if the investment was worth it, I manage to get a good tone without the cali76, but when I first plugged it in, oh boy my tone got soooo much better, and didn't loose any dynamics. Highly recommended.

Origin Cali76 Compact

I can't really add anything that hasn't been said before. This is by far the best compressor on the market for adding a subtle amount of compression and sustain to any rig. I use this pedal as an always on at the end of my signal chain. It allows me to hang on notes just a little longer while bringing all frequencies up. The glow up.

This pedal just makes everything sound better in my opinion! The blend knob and word of mouth made this pedal something I had to try not to mention it was popping up on some seriously respectable players boards. It just makes everything glow!

The best compressor

I love the Cali 76 compressor so much that I own two of these. I've got two pedal boards and I just bought the second one so my tone will be consistent on both of my rigs. I have for many years been a huge fan of the Keeley 4 knob compressor and its variations but the Cali 76 is in a class all by itself. You can dial up just about any imaginable compression tone from super squishy… read more all the way down to very mild and subtle. I really love the creamy smooth jazz guitar tones that I get from this wonderfully crafted device. This is studio grade and true FET compression in a very small stomp box sized footprint that will certainly spoil even the most finicky guitarists. Being able to add back in the dry uncompressed tone is really the true magic to it. The compression circuit is very buttery smooth and transparent but being able to add back the uncompressed dynamics on overdriven tones is a really nice way to add some additional punch and sparkle. With that said it makes your other pedals sound that much better. The controls are very responsive to subtle changes and the pedal does not add in any unwanted coloring to your signal. Origin Effects recommends running the pedal on 18 Volts of which I can say does add some additional headroom. I power both of my Cali's on Voodoo Labs power bricks so purchasing a 2.1mm power splitter cable (Center Negative) is also recommended. The build quality is superb and the rugged construction of this pedal certainly makes it gig worthy. There is just something magic about the Cali that makes your tone more musical and to my ears it's worth every penny. Glad that Sweetwater is carrying these top notch pedals.

Just get it

I put this purchase off for a long time wondering if this compressor was worth the extra money. I've always had a compressor on my board at the beginning of my chain, because I use high headroom amps and want some compression that I don't get from my amps. I've tried to play more dynamically over the past two years which led me to blend knobs and trying my compressor post drives.… read more I've never quite been happy with my drives as a result, and my compressor was too noisy post drive. I finally jumped on this when I saw that Sweetwater had it in stock. I figured all of my favorite players use it, so it must be good. The Cali76 just makes everything better for me. I have it post drives with low noise. It makes all of my drives sound better with the dynamics I've been searching for, and my delay and reverb even seem to sound better. It really is like having a "secret sauce" on my board.
