Line 6 catalyst 200 watt 2x12
it is as advertised. in person the darker tone isn't necessarily like that.......this solid state has a good feel without the edgy highs you can have with other solid state amps. but you can make the amp bright if you really need to. the boost is a good option to have with what it will do. i haven't had a chance to record yet. once i do of course we'll use the app to dial in… read more tones. good variety of tones to start with. i could use it to play out too. i'm fine with the effects. i've used the reverb so far. we'll see how they apply with recording. usually i use a pedal board. i like just a bit of delay with a bit of reverb to start with. with the app we'll see how the other effects can fit with the tone selections we use. i like the amp. glad i bought it. not heavy to take around either
Built like a tank
First of all I want to thank everyone at the sweetwater for being such a great online musical shopping platform.Everybody is so generous and very helpful towards their customers. Thanks Brian for guiding us through every step. Now back to the point. This amp is so awesome I just received it today and the moment I turned it on I was so impressed with the tone right away...It's simple… read more doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. The amp models are excellent especially the clean channels.I like the clean and chime...They just sound like an tube amp...The wattage attenuator switch works fine too..The effects and reverb is very real sounding. It also takes multi effect processors very well. I tried it with my zoom g3xn and it sounded pretty good.It also takes pedals very well especially the tube screamer when you have the amp set up on chime with right settings. If you want the best experience with these amps I would suggest get the 200 watt one because you can always control the sound output level with the attenuator switch on the back. The reason I'm saying about the 200 watt one because I feel that it has a wider sound compared to others. It sounds fuller to me with 2 speakers. The reverb sounds good with 2x12 You can also modify your tone using the line software.Line 6 has done an amazing job with these series. My mom got me this as a gift and Im writing this review for it
Best Line 6 Tone/ Limited Features
Been a Line 6 user from the beginning. The Catalyst is the best sounding, most elegant looking Line 6 combo to date. However, the user interface is just too much. Between saving, sharing and uploading tones, I found it confusing. I find that only being able to use two effects at once too limiting. It would have been nice to be able to use a Line 6 floor board controller as well.… read more No Bluetooth in this day in age is unfortunate and inconvenient. I liked the Spider V MKII better. While the tone may not be up to par with the Catalyst. The user interface and options are worth it. The Catalyst will be sold.
Best digital amp I've ever had
46 years playing experience. Best amp ever in this price point. Love my Fender Deluxe Reverb but for just plug and play any style, this is the best grab and go for the money.
