Great Purchase!!!
Bought this amp since I only had a Champion 40. I wanted an amp with the tube sound and other modern features such as a power attenuator, an XLR output, headphone jack, ect... This amp definitely delivered, it does everything I was hoping it would do. Great sounds, reliable, and I can use it in a variety of scenarios.
Better than a Spider
the evolution of the modeler budget amplifiers.
This is a homerun.
It does exactly what I had hoped it would do. I turned it on, and it rocked. Also, it plays nice with my pedals.
So glad I made this purchase!
First, let me say how great the Sweetwater crew, and Drew in particular is! I bought another amp and had it for a few weeks when I learned that the Catalyst had come out. I liked my H&K Spirit of Vintage, but needed to crank it to uncomfortable volumes to get the tone I wanted. In the last year, I've tried the Spark Amp, The H&K Spirit of Vintage, and the Vox Mini Superbeetle. The… read more Catalyst has proved itself to be the best of all worlds, at least for my home practice needs. I know it is a modeling amp, but the sound is so organic and the tone shaping capability is extensive. I think you would be hard-pressed to find another amp with such a great tone with so many choices while still having a simple operation - at this price point. The tuner and effects work really well too. In addition, it has the attenuator (a huge factor for me), direct recording interface, AND, and effects loop. I have found my amp. Buy one, you won't be disappointed.
Best digital amp. PERIOD!
I have played numerous digital amps and the Line 6 Catalyst 60 is fabulous. Feels like a tube amp. Clean sound is most excellent and the overdrive is smooth and Marshall JVM-like. Takes my pedalboard perfectly. This is the real deal. Delvin is just the best. Wonderful amp. Simply wonderful.
