Excellent guitar hanger

I have a lot of instruments that I prefer to hang up so I can enjoy them and play them more often. I originally bought a cheaper plastic hanger, and they started breaking after about 6 months of regular use. So I paid a bit more and got these, with the steel backing. So much more solid. I don't have a gnawing dread that I'll walk into my music room and find a guitar on the floor read more anymore. Also, it accommodates the neck on my 8 string. Just a solid product with a solid build.

Drywall anchor instructions:

Awesome hanger, I second everything in Jim's review, including mounting a board to studs...the included helical shaped drywall anchors are the best anchors on the market nowadays, but they aren't for every situation. I've installed thousands of them doing construction, and they are the ONLY type that I would ever consider hanging a guitar from. If you happen to hit a stud, they read more won't work...but in that case you only need screws right? If your house is older you may have PLASTER walls, these won't work on plaster, try toggle bolts instead. If you over torque them with your impact gun/drill, they WILL damage your wall. Once the anchor's tip "drills" through the wall, reduce your speed and let the threads engage the drywall slowly until anchor is flush with wall. Over torquing will cause the anchor to bury itself into the wall leaving you with a nice 3/4" hole. Just go slow and you'll be fine, you got this!

Very sturdy and attractive

I'm very pleased with these. The negative reviews here are critical of the mounting system, specifically the drywall anchors. There's nothing wrong with the anchors; they're exactly what you'd get in a bulk pack at a big box hardware store. While the problem may be with installation (believe me, it's possible; I've had more than one homebrew shelf collapse on me) or your drywall read more (density varies), for my money, I think it's best to mount a nice-looking piece of hardwood on the wall, screwed into the studs, and mount the hangers on that. Personally, I don't want to trust ANY drywall anchor with my '77 Les Paul, not matter how great the anchors look. Installation picture accompanies; the wood is Oregon white oak which I milled and finished from a tree that came down in a storm.

Great Buy

Looks great and easy to install, which is about everything you could want with this.
