Great pickups for clean to heavy sounds. Very comfortable neck. I've had an easy transition going from 6 strings to 7 with this guitar. The 5 way switching offers some great tonal variations that you don't find on most guitars. The neck is thin for soloing but still thick enough for chords.

I own many quality guitars including a Les Paul Standard, Music Man Majesty, Reverend, Dean, Jackson, Carvin, and this guitar is a joy to play. The only hiccup was that I had to file the low B string nut slot to smooth it out so it would stay in tune, but as I play it more and more, breaking in the strings, this problem has all but disappeared. I bought this as my first 7 string after playing mostly Ibanez 6 strings for 16 years.I play mainly progressive, and technical Death Metal, and the neck is extremely thin and smooth for fast playing and the satin finish makes it feel like it's been rubbed down with baby powder or something. I use tremelo bars quite a bit(even more now ironically) but purposely wanted to avoid the… read more hassle of Floyd Rose tuning and restring, and this bridge exceeds every expectation, stays in tune well and has a nice wide pitch range.This is the first time I've spent over $200 on a guitar, and I absolutely love this instrument, and it has every spec I could have wanted in a 7 string guitar as a first timer and it's all I play now.
