The ONLY strings that will ever go on my PRS guitar
I bought a PRS CE24 a few months back and played it so much I managed to break a string in less than a month. I didn't know what strings came factory-default on it so I gave it to a tech to let him decide. He put ClearTone 9-24's which sounded absolutely awful and completely ruined the magic of this beautiful guitar. I did some research and replaced them with some PRS Signature… read more Electrics, which sound 95% the same, but have a noticeably brighter and twangier tone. That might be a plus depending on the sound you're looking for, but I wanted the original sound I had the day I bought my guitar. Fortunately, I had the foresight to pick up a pair of these Classic Electric strings along with the signatures, and the other day I accidentally let the locking tuner on one of my strings unwind and the string fell out. I decided to string it back up with these strings, and lo and behold, my CE24 is back to sounding exactly like it did the day I bought it. Absolute perfection. I will never put another brand of strings on my PRS guitar, ever. That said, I've heard rumors that PRS strings don't quite sound the same on other guitar brands, so if you have something else, D'Addario NYXLs are a fantastic alternative to these. I use them on my Ibanez G10 and my buddy has them on his BFR JP15, It doesn't matter if it's a $200 guitar or a $2700 one--they sound incredible all the same.
Try them your like them
Yes tried other brands . 10 x 46 I purchased 3 pack. The strings last a long time ,and are smooth to play, .sound great. Playing 40 yrs my new string brand.
Love them...but...
These are some of the best string I've used. The tone is smooth and subtle, and pair wonderfully with my SE Standard 24. They have nice sustain and hold a tuning very well. Unfortunately, my experience with PRS lately has been long backorders, so I'm currently looking into other options.
