Must have
WOW what a nice sound ! Used this on my MIM, it just never sounded great. This pick guard gave me the Strat sound that I was looking for with a simple installation. Forty minutes later I was tuning her up. Pick ups didn't even need adjusting. Quiet as a mouse and quacks like a duck !
No more hiss
Fit perfectly. Not sure about the stereo jack though. I used the original. Only strange thing was my strat had a ground wire from the body of the guitar and the tremolo that had to be merged with the jack ground to insert in to the volume pot and tightened. Not as easy as it sounds but it got done.
A great and versatile pickguard, easy to install.
Bought this for my Strat which was originally in an HSS configuration. I wanted something closer to a traditional Strat but without 60 cycle hum of single coils. The bridge pickup is hot as some have described, but still maintains a tone similar to an SSL-5. Obviously the technology can't match the tone of the single coils, but it does come pretty close. Either way, the sound and… read more tone is very high quality. The neck pickup is fat and clear. The middle pickup produces the best clean tone, in part due to it's lower output. The setup was relatively easy. The only problem I had was with the output jack that came with it. It was clearly a stereo jack, which made it too long to fit in the cavity of my guitar, but I just stuck with the original output jack, which I did have to solder. Additionally, I don't know if the stereo output jack would have worked, as I've never used one of those before except with active pickups. Overall, I would highly recommend it for someone to maintain a Strat-like tone without the noise. As always, Sweetwater treated me well and I'll definitely keep buying product from them.
Very nice
The pickups Seymour Duncan have chosen to put in this pickgaurd work very well together. The bridge pickup has a nice bite and the neck has a great vintage tone (I love this one). Combine them with the middle and get a great strat quack. The coil stack design of all 3 pickups make them very quiet but they can be switched to true single coil mode by pulling up the tone 2 control.… read more I had a little problem with the pickguard fit. I had to trim a little at the bridge to make it work. All in all, a great product.
