Keeley Compressor Plus LTD 4-Knob Compressor
Our band covers 50's-present rock/pop/variety music, so I need a lot of different sounds on tap. I was looking for something to spice up clean solos. I have an old Dyna Comp and a Boss compressor, but was lacking the ability to blend back the clean signal. The Plus LTD 4-Knob gave me this, plus the toggle for single/humbuker pickups. I use an American Standard Strat and a '79 Les… read more Paul Standard thru a Koch The Greg amp(SPX90 & Lexicon processors in parallel FX loop) for a variety of sounds, and this compressor works fantastically in sparkling up my sound! I can cut through the mix with a sweet sizzle on R&B, and crazy chicken pick on country! There is a lot of sonic flexibility in this pedal with the blend, tone, sustain, and level controls. I'm loving it and looking forward to using it this year through a busy winery season!! I highly recommend this pedal!! Also, thanks so much to Tom Maxwell for being super helpful, as usual!! And thankyou Sweetwater for your stellar service!!
Great Pedal Compressor
I've had this pedal about a month now and I'm enjoying it. I needed it for my 64 Fender Princeton Reverb amp which is very dynamic while recording direct to DAW through a load box. I was occasionally getting clipping when I was really digging in and this helps tame the signal without drastically changing the tone of the guitar. The pedal is quiet and switches on silently. It has… read more a nice looking metal body and the knobs are smooth and easy to see. I'm using it with single coils and it offers a setting for both those and humbuckers. I actually use it in the humbucker position and to me it sounds less thin, so I'd suggest you try both with your rig. It's a cool looking pedal and I like it.
Oh my
First off, I agree with every review on here!! This thing is what I've been hearing on all these 70's albums, live or studio. This is THE sound!! Now, back then, it was the MXR dyna comp that was available. So everyone used it. You can get that dyna comp warmth with the tone knob. Very good sweep range on it. The blend knob is perfect for any and all mixing of your dirty and dry… read more signal. Very easy to use. It's intuitive really. I got this cool blue one on special last Christmas. Ive never used a keeley pedal on any sort till this one. But it has made me play differently, In a good way. Bottom line, if your in the market, drop the hammer and get one of these. It will change your idea of tone of you never used a compressor before!
Top Notch!
This is my 2nd, higher end, pedal compressor. I also have the JHS Pulp n Peel. They are both amazing and have super cool things about them. The JHS cost… more. The Keeley ABSOLUTELY holds up and for certain things is better. I highly recommend this pedal! Super versatile and compact.
Compressor ideal!
Everything a compressor should be and nothing it shouldn’t. I’d heard a lot of good stuff about this pedal beforehand and I’ve used it in a couple of recording sessions. It’s normally a pedal that people never know is on, but if it was gone, it def affects the sound of your playing and you would know. Saying that, you can actually sustain your chords, and notes especially,… read more considerably. The real star on this compressor however, is the ‘blend’ knob. You can mix in compression to the degree you wish. I love this pedal and, less importantly, got it in the exclusive bright, happy blue Sweetwater edition. Thanks to Sweetwater and Aaron, my associate, for a painless experience.
