Wonderful Guitar!
I own several Cordoba and Yamaha classical guitars. This C12 has been an amazing work horse and performance guitar. Out performs them all. I use it for my course and class work as well as for performance pieces. Play it from 3-6 hours per day. It is just a great fit for the price. All the usual accolades: great projection, sustain, playability, and so on. Looking forward to adding… read more the C12 Spruce to the guitar stable. For a beginner/intermediate (and above) player this guitar is perfect.
Updated Review
Love this guitar. I have had it for about five weeks. There definitely was an adjustment period as the C12 has strong projection with a strong bass, never ending sustain, and an aggressive attack. These are the features I was looking for and the C12 delivered which can throw you off your game as you need to adjust your playing style. I am now a huge fan of the lattice style body… read more bracing. It does not sound nasally like some critics have indicated. It does have a strong projection as there is no interference from traditional fan braces and the solid tone wood is allowed to come through. Once I learned to adjust my approach this has given a whole new playing range which has brought new life to old pieces. Hence the need to adjust your attack, but don't avoid using this guitars' extended range to your advantage. Once I learned to manage the bass I realized the mid-range and treble I noticed also have greater projection, sustain, and an strong attack compared to my fan braced guitars. It is just that at first you are blown away with the overwhelming bass this guitar can produce. After five weeks of playing the C12 Cedar that adjustment is now natural and I don't have to think about it. I have developed a good balance in my playing style. The punch is there when I need it unlike my traditional fan bracing guitars. I have a couple Yamaha's, other Cordoba's with fan bracing and the C12 just blows them away. I am very happy with this purchase and I am going to add a second C12 (Spruce) to the collection. I hope Cordoba continues with it's lattice body style guitar line.
Beautiful guitar!!
I bought this guitar about a year and a half .This is a beautiful guitar with a warm yet bright and very well balanced sweet powerful sound, with plenty of projection,I ordered the cedar top from sweetwater and I can't be happier with, thank you to the sweetwater for providing the best customer service with my purchase and for having the best market price.
BOOM out of the box.
What can I say about this guitar that has not been reflected by other reviewers. Love it. Decided to splurge for the C12 for the reported increased projection with the lattice bracing. It did not disappoint. Very noticeable deeper/forceful sound from high to low. Most noticeable with the lower strings/notes (5 & 6), although the full range has improved. Playing style modification… read more required unless the moment calls for extra emphasis. Nice to know I have the power in reserve and can tap into it when I want to make a piece standout. Overall I got what I wanted. Improved projection without amplification. So keeping it intimate and real. Happy to have this guitar in my arsenal. The beauty, quality of the instrument is well covered by others and accurate. Great service from Sweetwater.
A Fantastic Classical Guitar!
This is my first classical guitar I have ever owned. I played several different brands including a Cordoba C5 & C10.... I watched several reviews on the C12 and decided to purchase one. I Immediately started the ordering process from Sweetwater, the only place I purchase my guitars and equipmentfrom. There were 5 different C12's to pick from. A great option from Sweetwater, you… read more can look and compare each instrument and choose the one you want. My Cordoba came very protectively packaged from Sweetwater.
