Like cream in black coffee

This pedal is great and very easy to use. Compression can be hard to explain, but the best analogy I can think of is taking a cup of strong, hot black coffee (your guitar through your amp) and adding some cream, which makes it sound smoother and richer. It makes it more palatable, less harsh, though it retains all of the flavor/tone.
You cannot go wrong with this pedal.

Does not need a noise suppressor for this unit. Quiet as a mouse. Performs as designed. A second unit is use along with a ART V3 on a acoustic amp for vocals. Performs better than expected. Note definition, even with heavy gain. Also can perform like a very clean boost.
Great for single-coil

Wonderful for single-coil sounds, like strat or P-90 or the split coil sound of humbucker guitars. I find it's no use for humbuckers. So that make it doubly useful. Set the LEVEL as a boost for the coil-splits and SC guitars to match their level up to that of the HB guitars. Had some doubts, but the clarity of this thing is astonishing, makes almost everything sound better. It's a great boost pedal too, lots of headroom. Fantastic on acoustic, electric and bass. It not only evens out volume and adds sustain, but evens out frequency content to improve clarity. It'll probably never leave my board.
