For When Glitchy Is A Good Thing
The CSIDMAN (DISCMAN) is simply a 1980s throwback digital delay when using the "FEED", "TIME", and "MIX" knobs. Play. Turning the "LATCH" and "CUTS" knobs helps create seemingly random weirdness. The idea is to replicate the effects created by playback of a scratched CD. With that in mind, the title of the pedal should make sense. "LATCH" is a kind of skipping where the delay is… read more increasingly stuck as the knob is turned clockwise. The amount of "FEED" (feedback) makes the "LATCH" wilder. The "CUTS" control knob slices the repeats by increasing the sample rate of the "LATCH" skipping as it is turned clockwise. Essentially,... "FEED" → "LATCH" → "CUTS" ...is the algorithm for the weirdness of the effect. "TIME" and "MIX" are straightforward parameters for delay time (maximum of 725ms) and the mix of the dry, analog source signal and the digital delay. Please note that a negative center 9v or up to 18v power supply is required and the pedal does not use batteries. I haven't tried mine with an 18v supply, yet, but the sound at 9v works for me. Using it with an Electro-Harmonix Mainframe pedal before it is absolutely sick. Sending classic drum machines and early samplers through the CSIDMAN create mayhem in need of some low-end taming. Indeed, I am having a lot of fun with this one.
Crazy pedal
This pedal is very interesting. If you're looking to experiment it's a great choice. Chops up your signal into some fantastic glitches. I combine mine with a bit crusher. Try some new things everyone.
