My new favorites
Just pulled the guts out of a 2010 American Deluxe Strat and did away with the N3 noiseless pickups, the S1 switch, and other needless nonsense that was under the hood. Replaced pots with Stewmac/Emerson Pros with vintage taper with a Sprague Black Beauty tone cap @ .047uf. Then installed these pups. Found the sweet spot on all three and am really happy with them. I'm comparing… read more these to several sets of pickups made by 'Boutique' winders and all I can say is Fender knocked it out of the park with this one. I ordered these on a hunch without really researching them and after I placed the order I started listening to demos on youtube and wasn't very impressed with what I was hearing. But then it dawned on me that the youtube demos where not being played through Tweed Circuit (not merely tweed covered) amps. In 1954 Marshall wasn't building amps yet and the Fender Tweeds were the king of electric music. Leos people made their gear to work best with their other gear! Anyway, ran these through a '59 Vibrolux Tweed that I recently bought. Swapped in and out a couple different speakers. Landed on the Emminence 1028k alnico. I am a minimalist for effects using a TS808, an MXR analog delay and a TrueSpring reverb in front of the amp. These pickups brought it all together better than any other that I have used. Similar to '59s but not as rounded and spongy. Plenty of Bass and mids for awesome overdrive and clear highs that are smooth and not spikey. Well worth the bucks. Thankyou Sweetwater for your expedient shipping as always.
54 pick ups
These pick ups have an amazing sound when your strumming you can almost hear some one singing. This sound is amazing I have a 60th year limited edition with 54 pick ups gold hardware two tone sunburst. I love it. It was 1600 dollars I like that people have choice to buy new pick ups and change your strat. I don't really recommend for metal or punk even though through pedals you… read more can get any sound. It's a blues playing machine or jazz or on the middle pick up alone sounds like great country setting I guess HHH set ups are best for metal and punk. anyway I can't describe the sound vocal chimey. Sounds like it's outa 54 have you ever heard a 50s strat the sound is magical this tribute guitar is great but I know those pick ups sound great
