Very cool dano
Really Cool take on the Dano U2 , I Love the upgraded Gotoh tuners and the Bridge and the Jade Green is killer in person it sounds fantastic with the lipstick pups and it seems the electronics have been improved , but.. the tone knob doesnt really have a decent sweep its all or nothing , but thats ok ,fingerboard says pao ferro , but its dark like rosewood, and the neck is really… read more nice and comfy, i also have a DC12 in cherryburst that i love and its better than my Ric 12, go figure ,but yep the NEW Dano 57 Jade is a killer Guitar, grab one before their gone.
This thing is a lot of fun!!
This is a very interesting guitar. First, I love the history of the brand. I love the quirkiness to it. First impressions were of good quality. It feels well made. The neck is thin, but comfortable. I think the profile is historically accurate for Danelectros. The guitar is comfortable and fun to play. It is light to hold. The notes seem to jump off the guitar – I think… read more because of the lipstick single coil pickups. The sound is different than a strat or tele. The notes seem slightly more individually clear and seem to jump out at you. The bridge pickup is very spanky – sounds nice clean or even better with a little dirt. The neck pickup is a little more generic sounding, but it sounds good clean or over driven. The middle position sounds great – it is wired in series – not parallel – so you get an almost humbucker type boost from the middle position. I can see why people say the tone is unique and cuts through a mix different than anything else. Looking inside, it seems well built. I could see eventually needing to change the 3-way switch – it is not the best quality. I could also see eventually needing to change the jack. But, both work for now. The pots seem good, but the tone pots are basically either on or off – there isn't much taper at all – which I think is historically accurate. The tuning machines feel good and hold tune well. The setup was good out of the box. Eventually, I will do a fret leveling, but it is very much playable as is. This guitar can handle blues, jazz, rock and roll, country – you name it. I got the Jade green – the color is great in person. The pictures don't quite do it justice. This thing is a lot of fun!
