My 1st Danelectro
The first time I tried a Danelectro was a few years back in a local pawn shop. The guitar was a cheaper model, and in rough shape with old strings. After a few minutes of playing, I was blown away at how incredible it resonated with (no amp)! I swore one day that I'd buy one. A few months ago I was browsing through Sweetwater's site and stumbled on the new 59 Devine. It was… read more time to buy my first Danelectro. Now that I have it, I'm certainly not disappointed. With the exception of "unfinished" sharp fret ends, that I filed down myself, the guitar is outstanding! Fit and finish seem to be very good considering it's a budget guitar, while the action and playability are superb. It's one of the few of many guitars I own, that is happy with lighter gauge strings. Plugged the Devine into my Marshall 1987X Plexi and it soared with the eagles! Fantastic tuning stability and just an all around great looking guitar. Very pleased…
Love it!
This is my second Danelectro. My first was a hand me down 60's convertible given to me by a family member back in 1979 when I was 11 and was my first guitar. This model is so much better in fit and finish then my original from what I remember. The finish of this is flawless. Tuning was practically dead on when it arrived. The sound of the two lipstick pickups is awesome. Packing… read more was double boxed and surrounded by foam on the top, bottom, and partially on the sides so there was no room for the inner box to rattle around. The guitar itself was wrapped in foam and included a foam neck support. A+ all around. A special thanks to Ben Elder and Sweetwater for getting this to me in great condition!
Fantastic!
I am a professional player and producer. I have tons of gear and lots n lots of guitars. I ordered the '59 Divine because I wanted another Dano and thought this more "upscale" version would be cool, and MAN am I glad I did! Light as a doggone feather, absolutely perfect fretwork, no neck dive, slamming low action, great funky vintage low output Dano tones. PERFECTION. I always… read more work with Wayne Davis and would recommend him to anybody if you want a smooth and seamless transaction and experience.
