Classic Danelectro Bass with a twist!

I got this bass because I wanted something different as opposed to the "standard" basses like Fender and Gibson. When I recieved the bass, it was packaged perfectly and was even in tune! Setup up prefectly as usual. My sales engineer, Dennis Konicki, was very helpful and assisted me throughout the delivery process. Now for the bass! It plays beautifully and sounds great! I strung read more it with D'Addario Short Scale Chromes and instantly got that 60s hollowbody tone. It weighs practically nothing and is a joy to play. Thanks Sweetwater and Danelectro!

Got this bass the other day and it is exactly what I expected. Super smooth action and crazy tone for days. As always Sweetwater shipped quick and made sure it showed up perfect to plug in and play! Thanks Chris Steele for making sure I'm taken care of!

Super casual funky bass

My friend who is a beginner on bass said of this bass, "It's very unintimidating!" I thought that was a good comment. It's a very friendly bass. Light and easy to play. I find the stacked knobs a little awkward. They tend to want to turn together. You can pull them apart a little because they are friction fitted. I haven't played it with a band yet but the pickups seem punchy. Not read more a lot of midrange maybe due to the smaller single coil lipstick design? They ohm out at around 3.5k which is different. This would be a good bass for playing along with acoustic players or at casual gatherings I think. For the money I'm not sure I'd want this for my main bass. I think for a little less money a "Squier" might be better. But.. if you're looking for something different with a lot of character this is a cool bass. The neck on mine has a bump up where the neck is suddenly supported by the body. I guess it's not too bad because it doesn't cause a problem with string rattle. Maybe it got a quick plek job in that area of the neck if that's even possible? The finish is very nice and the fretboard even seems to have a nice glow finish to it like it's been lightly sealed and buffed out some. Frets are nice. Fun bass...

GREAT Bass

For the price, I don't think I've played a better playing or sounding bass. After straining my fret hand on a long-scale Schecter, the short-scale of the Dano is perfect - super fast, easy to play. Love it. And the customer service I got from Ian and company was, as always, excellent. If you're looking for a short-scale bass, look here first.

Danelectro Short Scale Bass- I’m impressed!

I ordered the Black Metalflake short scale Danelectro bass as a travel bass. It appeared at my door 2 days ahead of the promised date perfectly set up and only a few cents out of tune. Have only played it a couple hours, but I'm very impressed. As advertised, it's very comfortable sitting and standing. Absolutely no neck dive, so won't need a strap while practicing. No fancy wood, read more but flawlessly designed and constructed. A distinctively different look than my Fender P and J Basses. And the tone capabilities! Will be exploring the bass's sounds for awhile, but already I know that it can go from mellow to gnarly. Time will tell, but the Danelectro may become my main bass. Thanks again to Sam Dowty for his guidance. Mitch
