AWESOME GIDDYTAR
Bought this guitar from Sweetwater, came perfectedly packaged and delivery was swift. Love this Guitar.
Danelectro 59Xt Dark Aqua
I love my Danelectro 59Xt! I have a Danelectro Baritone as well. I play classical and metal, but I am a huge fan of surf rock. I love the classic look and sound of my 59Xt! The price is right, and the sound is right! Pick one up for your collection, you will become a fan!
Oh Danny Boy!!!
I always wanted a Danelectro but I was a little skeptical, okay a lot, about how a $550 guitar would play and sound. But if Joe Walsh can play one, why not give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by this inexpensive beauty. It's light-weight, pretty well-balanced and really plays well. I like guitars with split coil pots so the option of being able to split the bridge pups give… read more another "spanky" tone to this 60's-70's sounding rocker. It's made well for the price. The fretboard is easy to get around and the frets are smooth. For an axe made from hardboard, it's a great option for everyday play and beginners who want bang for the buck. The finish is nice and the Wilkinson vibrato bridge keeps it in tune when using the tremolo bar pretty well. I added 2 springs to keep it tight and suggest at least 4 to enjoy this axe. When I got mine, I'm sure they checked the intonation at Sweetwater with their 55 point inspection but it was out. I blamed it on the extreme heat we had that week and it being transported from Sweetwater's warehouse, which I assume is climate controlled to being on hot delivery trucks and in and out of a few facilities from Indy to NY. It also just comes in the proverbial triangular cardboard box packed inside a heavier one so there is no case to keep it at a decent temperature. I did let it acclimate to my air conditioned home before opening so who know where it went out. But intonating it was a breeze with the Wilkinson bridge. And they include all the Allen keys you need to adjust everything. The only other thing I could say that kept it from getting 5 stars is the coil split knob is a little hard to grip if your hand is a little sweaty or oily from playing. So, I'll probably just put a rubber grip on it. So for the $5 in total upgrades, minus a gig bag or case, that's not bad. Other than that, well worth the money.
Great Guitar and does not break the bank!
I tuned this guitar to D-A-D-G-A-D and played Led Zeppelin's Kashmir for about 3 hours. I just could not put id own! It sounds great and looks better than the picture. No buyers remorse here. My Advice is just go ahead and buy it. You will not regret it!
Great features, look, sound and playability
Wow...I'm blown away by this guitar. First off, Sweetwater does an amazing job with their 25 point inspection. Out of the box, this guitar was in tune and set up nicely! I've been playing it for about a week and I think I've only tuned it twice! I can't say this about any of my other guitars that are 2 to 3 times the price. Tonally, its a beast. The split coil humbucker is my favorite,… read more but switching back and forth between pickups, splitting the humbucker into a single coil, messing with the tone knob will present a palatte of amazing tones! From twang to growl. The neck feels great too! Super low action with no string rattle. I can't say enough good things about it! Love the color too! Oh...and after playing with the Wilkinson tremolo, i'm thinking of converting some of my other guitars to that trem. So stable!
Love the dano
.....love my 59xt....it's great for recording projects and gigs....can't beat the sound and the feel.
A wonderful addition to my arsenal.
This guitar looks and feels great, plays well, and has a fantastic variety of "vintage" tones to choose from. It holds tune well, is comfortably light and has a real quirky vintage vibe overall. It makes a wonderful addition to my arsenal.
