Good player but..
Ok, this is hardly a reflection on Sweetwater as I'm a very happy customer. But this guitar, it's over priced by $. The hardware and pots are as cheap as it gets. Esthetic wise, it looks like a plastic guitar. I do like the way it plays though but that's not good when the noise from the string tree echos at tap. The lack of insulation on the pots is unforgivable at this price point.… read more The headstock dive is way shallow and contributes to a further ring at tap. My guitars tremolo bar doesn't connect as well. I'm sending her back. Sweetwater is a very fair place to buy from and they get an A+ for painless return.
Danelectro Baritone 66BT
Started playing guitar 35 years ago and was originally trained to be a music teacher. However, I never owned a Baritone guitar. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Baritone! This Danelectro is a great guitar! The deep, rich sound of the Baritone has given me so many creative ideas for my own songs. It looks great, and sound great!

Blazing new trails
I've been wanting a baritone for a long time but couldn't decide which one to get. I am thrilled I got the 66BT. The finish details on this guitar are extraordinary. And it sounds fabulous. The tremolo is just right. Now to work out some new tunes to suit this bad boy. And Sweetwater has the best packers and shippers in the business. And as always my salesman Jeff Barnett shines… read more above all. Thanks Jeff.
DANELECTRO 66BT BARITONE
I love this guitar. The deep rich tones are just what I wanted.
This is a very nice instrument
I've had my 66bt for three weeks now and I am really liking it. The workmanship is superb. The setup was the best I've ever had on a new guitar - the intonation is perfect. I have a BassVI as well and this feels and sounds much more like a guitar than a bass. The neck feels great and I haven't had any problems adjusting to playing it, even though the first few frets are pretty… read more far apart. It's very resonant unplugged, but the pickups sound fantastic into a clean Fender style amp. Throw in a little reverb and tremolo and the tone is extremely good - articulate and full-bodied, but not wooly or ice-picky. I find the neck pickup (single coil) to be extremely usable and with the coil splitting in the bridge pickup, this thing has a many different tones available. I play mostly clean, but I am sure this would take distortion extremely well. The blue finish looks fantastic - in some light it looks almost black, but the blue really shows when it's illuminated. I play in a duo with an acoustic guitar and this baritone really helps us fill out our sound. The vibrato is Strat-style. I would have preferred a Bigsby or Jazzmaster style system, but this works very well for me after I adjusted my touch. I had to wait six months to get mine, but if something happened to it I wouldn't hesitate to get another one!
