Very Impressive 12 String acoustic
I wanted to pick up an acoustic 12 string acoustic. But I did not necessarily need a high end guitar as most of my other guitars. Working with Greg Baum of Sweetwater he steered me to three different models; a Martin, a Guild, and this D'Angelico. After researching as many reviews and info on all three I stopped by Sweetwater to try each one. While all are very nice guitars… read more I was quite impressed with the D'Angelico. Not only with its appearance and features offered at this price point but playing the guitar was equally as impressive. The D'Angelico has a nice booming sound that will fill any room. Good range on both high and low end. The fingerboard and action were as good as my high end Martin, easy to play. In summary, I chose the D'Angelico for all of these reasons. If you are in the market for a reasonably priced, but quality 12 string acoustic you will be happy with the D'Angelico Premier Fulton in Vintage Natural finish. A shout out to Greg Baum, one of Sweetwater's top Sales Engineers. I if you stop by Sweetwater, look for Greg he really knows his stuff!
Great 12 string guitar
I had been looking for a grand auditorium sized 12 string with a short scale and this is the only one I found. All other 12 strings this size had a 25 1/2"scale which is rather stiff for a 12 string. I have a grand concert size Seagull, a dreadnought Seagull and a dreadnought Yairi that all have a shorter scale. I have six string grand auditoriums and like the tight mid range focus… read more and clear bottom end and I thought that this body style combined with the shorter scale would be perfect for a 12 string. This guitar proved to be exactly what I was looking for. I ordered it and got it the next day as I live in Indiana. The guitar had a very tight and even grained top, silked from one end to the other and a warm, balanced clear tone that excelled when individual notes are picked, a solid bottom end,and didn't get muddy when strummed. The workmanship was surprisingly good for a $ guitar. The electronics are very basic and use an older style piezo element but it delivers a very accurate amplified signal that has a natural relaxed sound. Overall a remarkably good value. The guitar is built by Cortec and shows their usual attention to detail and exceptional value. As to be expected for a guitar with this many features at this price point it did need some set up work. The strings were rather high at the first fret and I had to bring the bridge saddle down a bit.Once done it played wonderfully. I recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a great 12 string.Even if you have to pay your local guy for a set up you will still find it to be an exceptional value.
Wow!
Right out of the box, plays great! Unbelievable sound and play ability! I have 7 other 12 string guitars, and for the money, this one is right at the top!
First Major Sweetwater Purchase and I'm Impressed
The D'Angelico Premier Fulton (Natural) is a gorgeous 12-string that plays as well as it looks. Nicely balanced, with a comfortable C-shaped neck, this guitar rings like a choir of church bells. I already own a D'Angelico electric and I assure the build quality of their guitars is outstanding. Also, the soft cases seem to be durable and trustworthy. This was money well spent.… read more My heartfelt thanks to Taylor for walking me through the process, always informative and never pushy. I mentioned to Taylor that I play in 432, but that I would adjust the tuning myself. But when the guitar arrived, it was tuned to 432. THAT is customer service above and beyond expectations! Kudos to Lucas G for a fabulous set up, and to Greg T for making sure all 55 points were inspected and approved. Give these guys raises! One more thing: Buy this guitar!!

Chris and staff did a great job inspecting and shipping. This plays decent right out of the box. The quality is great and beautiful finish. Tone is bright and crisp.
