DAR1046 Electrozinc Rock 10s Electric Guitar Strings - .010-.046 Review

Excellent Quality, Great Tone - and Nickel Free!

It's pretty unfortunate to be a guitar player with a nickel allergy. However, It's pretty awesome to find a pair of strings that sound and feel amazing without making my hands break out in a rash. They also last longer than any other pack of strings I've used. Great bang for your buck. Highly recommend.

Robust Warmth and Clarity

I'm what you might call a string snob. I have used many strings, from EB Slinky's to Cleartones to Gear Supply co. Then when they went out of business I went with Stringjoy strings. Most recently I have used the D'Addario NYXL's on all my guitars. Enter the D'Angelico's. They came from the factory on a new guitar. I took it home with every intention of changing them out the second… read more I pulled it out of the box. But I didn't. I plugged it in and noodled for a minute or two before being called away for work. 4 hours later the sound and feel of those strings, that i played to 120 seconds, had not left my memory for a single moment. Warm without being Dark. Resonate without being muddy. The highs were crisp without a hint of harshness. The tone was balanced, and the mids were present without being overbearing; sassy but not aggressive. Three weeks later and with a fresh set on my guitar, it still holds true. Everything I didn't know I was looking for in a guitar string.

Pleasantly surprised

I got this set from the D'Angelico's booth and NAMM; lately I've keep breaking my NYXL1046, so I decided to give it a try to these and they delivered big!! Love the tone, the intonation and the feel, actually I only learnt about the coating after installation. Try a set, you'll be happy!
