Sounds good in the FX loop of my old 5150. I needed an Avalanche Run sounding pedal, but w/ MIDI i/o . I was happy to find out that this pedal sounds better.

Love the effects this thing is able to produce. It is a pretty complicated pedal to get used to in the beginning, but once you find your desired settings - its gold. It already comes with some presets, but I've overridden them entirely. If you're looking for a basic user-friendly pedal, this is not. If you're looking for a true and unique customizable effect verb/delay/modulation read more pedal, here you are. The dynamic expression knob/setting is what sets this pedal apart from the competition. I recommend watching Ola Englunds & video review for the Dark Sun before purchasing The only con I can really say (besides the price) is the font letting on the is very slim, so it can be quite difficult to read, even with proper lighting. The grey base color with black font is matte, but is also reflective when you have a light over it which is weird. This, again, is the only negative thing I have against it. Regardless, this performs better than any DAW effects, plugins, and physical pedal I've ever used. I've spent days discovering what you can create with this thing.

More than enough

A little history: I am a bassist. I was toying with guitar (different animal) and was asked to play rhythm at my church in a few weeks. I asked my worship leader what"s need for effects and he said "Compression, o/d, verb, delay with the ability to program bpm to match the song - that"s it!" That"s it. The two pedals I needed were delay and verb. I was thinking - sell my entire read more board and upgrade to helix? Nope. This unicorn of a pedal filtered it"s way to the top of my list. Mike Brandt was helpful to double check my options as well. He felt the same way - this pedal is a keeper. So far I e been able to program all my delays, plus this thing is a monster. It has so much flexibility plus midi io. One thing but I may not be using it right - one of our songs has a 51bpm at 6/8 time setting, and I can"t dial into 51 bpm using the time control - it jumps from 50 to 55 at the slower pace. I was able to tap into 51 bpm and save it with no issue, however. It"s way more than I need and really shines on my board. It isn"t as small as a typical pedal - there"s some real estate, but it is smaller than a boss dd-500. I"d love to see a stomp button bank control, but if I"m honest a cheap wireless midi receiver will connect to my tablet and do fine. For my sets we usually only need 4 presets - if I was going to use the presets in my cover act I"d get the midi working. A WINNER. Thanks Mike & Sweetwater crew. Thanks Mark Holcombe and Seymour Duncan for the good work and design on this one.

Amazing sounds, textures and tunability.l get lost in this pedal, but nearly a bit too much to control for a Luddite like myself.l have some experience with preset pedals but this is a learning curve to control.Phew.l will be discovering soundscapes for years.Be brave it"s worth it.
