Dave’s Tornado of Tone
Where do I start? I got this pickup on a whim. I already love Seymour Duncan, and when I chose to try these out I was back to using the "Het Set" EMG"s. I was hopping that using these after trying the Gus G blackouts would let me know for sure whether I really loved SD. However, I never found a reason to try to SD until I as sure. That time was now with the Thrash Factor. I posited… read more with the SD preamp pot and just blows everything I"ve tried so far out of the water. On my LP Traditonal, I can really hear the guitar—I mean really hear it. The lows growl and have a classic LP tone with a bit edge and bite that comes from the custom pickup and active pot. The highs clear up like a dream and make my average playing sound amazing. I am not saying that this will make you a better since even SD and Dave can"t produce those kinds of miracles, but they will inspire you. Please try them.
