Great noise reduction....but tone suck!

This is my favorite noise reduction system for pure noise gating. It is very sensitive for string attack and eliminates all hums and hisses without a doubt. The problem is that it attenuates the low-mid frequencies in the process. This was mentioned in another review that I read. That is a huge problem for tone chasers that love the full spectrum tone of high gain output. Some may read more say you won't miss it after you get used to it. I tried that for a while, but i really loved the tone of my rig...taken years to get there. The kicker is the price of this unit....it should not have this problem given the price tag. But of course it's 12 year old tech...can't be too critical. As a side note: I have a Boss SY-1000 synth / modeler. The SY 1000 has the GT-1000 guitar effects and amps built in...the noise suppressor effect works almost as well as the Pro Rack G with no discernable tone loss....first one i have ever tried that did not have this issue... I was kinda blown away by that...i use the noise suppressor effect when i connect my Mesa preamps or OD pedals direct into the SY-1000. I wish boss made a separate pedal that uses this tech. I have to say....everything about the SY-1000 has been very impressive...might want to check that out.

Functions great - ignorant power source design

This unit works great. No argument there. But, the power unit is abnormal. You'd expect a normal plug in just like every other piece of rack equipment on the face of the earth. This this has a big block plug in that won't fit unless you have a black unit above and below your power conditioner. Simply ridiculous to spend this much on a rack item, and I have to McGiver a 1 foot power read more extension just to make things work..

Needed to clean up hiss with Eden preamp set to high gain in bass rig. Works great.

I use channel one in between my guitar+pre-effects, and the amp input. I use channel two in the last chain of my amps effects loop in/return. The results eliminated 100% of the hiss from my JVM410h, and all the effects are crystal clear. Very easy to use, you can dial in/out how sensitive you want either channel simultaneously. Absolutely positively 100% satisfied!

Best Noise Reduction I've Used

I've spent about a month using this product. I've used Boss NS-2 pedals for years and have prior experience with Hush units and I have to say that this product is hands down THE BEST I have ever used. It's easy to set up, and is extremely transparent. My true tone shines through on every amp head I have used this with. It's dead quiet too. Perfect for high gain players, it read more eliminates front end feedback and also the hiss produced from high gain heads when you use CH2 in the effect loop of your amp. Definitely a pro product and well worth it.
