Beautiful Sounding Analog Delay
I have owned / played most of the Memory Man pedals including the original big box Memory man with the attached A/C cord. This time it's about the 1100TT which i recently introduced to my full time pedal board. This pedal really sounds fantastic with a clean Strat, compressor pedal, and a full sounding clean amp. You also need to run the delay under about 600mS for clock noise /… read more distortion free delay repeats. If noisy is your thing, keep going to the longer delays....not for me. I found a much better solution. Just stack the 1100TT with a stereo digital delay, like the Eventide Timefactor in my case, that can handle the longer delays...they sound amazing together. The 1100TT is a must have for clean tone delay connoisseurs in my opinion....nothing else has the clarity and warmth of the Memory Man....plus the effects loop is awesome for adding effects to the delay instead of the built in modulation...like a flange pedal and Dimension D chorus in my case....endless delay tone possibilities...ultimate ambient guitar pedal.
Love it!
To be honest, this pedal took some getting used to. The cheaper analog delays I was using before I got this were so warm, but so muddy. This pedal is so clean in its repeats while maintaining warmth that I was almost confused at first, but now I just don't see how I could get along without it. The sound cuts through so well but is still nice and warm, the chorus is awesome, and… read more when I want to get an awesome OD sound, I turn everything else down and crank the gain knob (I wish I could get just the gain in a pedal a la the EP Booster.) The features are great, I love being able to use an expression pedal to control a specific parameter. It seems like a high price, but you won't be disappointed!
Nice!!
I owned briefly, an older DMM, big box with the Panasonic MN3005 chips; it sounded awesome, but since it was older unit it kept having issues, with switches and what not, and the delay time was not sufficient. This new DMM with 1100 ms of time, sounds incredible; maybe even better/easier to dial in a sound, than the older DMM I owned. The Chorus on this new pedal is much more usable… read more imho. Clean sounds were great- I played a Strat, with Porter 50s pickups thru a Tweed Blues Jr- heaven! Overdrive sounds were killer, same set up as above, but with an TS 808 infront of the DMM. Sounded great! Even lead sounds were great- very gilmourisque I also love he option of the divided notes for the delay, plus , the expression pedal option, all this not available on the older DMM. For me, this pedal does the job really well, in order to satisfy a "deluxe memory man" craving. There might be some that will argue the older pedals are better, but for me, this is more usable and dependable. Love it.
Just beautiful
Absolutely blown away by this pedal. Fantastic tones and great customer service from Sweetwater (as always).
It's back!
I've been looking to get a DMM1100TT for a long time, and was super excited to hear that EHX was re-releasing them. This thing sounds every bit as good as my older big-box DMM, and love that I get twice the delay time...without shelling out 2x the price sweetwater is asking!
