Best STRAT Sound Ever

I just started using the Gilmore EMG set and i am thrilled. The sound on my Strat is WOW like amazing. No more thin and over bearing tin piercing treble sound. The added mids are sweet and more delicious then i have ever heard from a strat before. I have some EMGs on my Tele also and that was life changing, but the Gilmore Black Set DG20 has really brought an awakining to my read more Strat playing. I have quite few Strats and I guess i'll be saving some bucks to get another two or three more sets.

Glassy clean and sparkly sound.

Best solution for me. I hate the middle pickup on strats but like the tone. The problem is that the middle pickup gets in the way especially when finger picking. Lower the pickup but you still catch finger nails and picks on the pole magnets with traditional strat pickups. With these being ceramic coated and smooth, it solves a major issue. I even lowered the middle pickup read more and lost no volume. Play anything on these but if you play metal, use middle, bridge or combination and only turn on middle boost. Sustain is unreal. Super clear sound.

Great sounds to be had!

Awesome pickguard...Sweetwater delivers! I put this in my 2015 American Fender Strat. Fit like a glove, installed and restrung in 20 minutes. No hum and I can dial in a bunch of great sounds. My only complaint was FedEx delivering it to the house 2 doors down...dumb@sses! Sweetwater once again, outstanding service!

Outstanding!

There are no superlatives that can describe the tone I get from my now modded 83 MIJ. Be patient, have a Dremel ready, and you'll be blown away. Clean, it's very spatial and rich, and as I told my Sales Engineer, Wayne Davis (great job again mate!), punch in a little gain and the sound is like a Willy Wonka contraption that just belches a gooey brown glob of overdriven bliss. The read more tone rolloff pots are amazing. Fully recommend this mod to any bloke who wants a different Strat tone.

Great sound, after a complete rewire of unit

The Install in my 1978 CBS-era Strat took much longer than the EMG video indicated. Had to drill out the hole from the jack rout into the pickup cavity in order to pass the quick connectors through. After completing the install, none of the pickups worked. Eagerly plugged my guitar into an amp and got nothing but crackle. Removed the pickguard and examined the wiring between read more the pots, switch and pickups. At least 5 of the connections had been incorrectly made (C'mon, where is the Quality Control, EMG?). Good thing I can read schematics, otherwise I'd have returned these. How do the pickups sound? Amazing! Stone quiet, abundant tonal flexibility, and I can execute massive David Gilmour-ish string bends with zero loss of fidelity or balance. Highly recommend the kit.
