These Strings Slay

I've never used any Dunlop strings before, but let me just say, these slay! They live on my guitar that I keep tuned a whole step down, and they sound great! They feel really good to bend with too! I would definitely recommend these if you like to play metal or punk (I've been playing a lot of Ghost and Misfits using them), because they sound great for both genres! I'll definitely read more be buying these again :)

These strings rock!

I bought these strings after reading about them online, and figured I'd give them a try. Let me tell, these strings are awesome! These strings are well strung, and great for chugging. I've never gone beyond .010-.046 but these strings are worth it.

Almost wrote them off!

I've been using DR Pure Blues 10-46 for years and i love them but since I play heavier music styles the loose strings and less clarity they give with distortion was the reason I looked elsewhere. So I first bought a 7 string set and before it arrived decided id also try the 6 string set. I'm using a 7 string ltd with a custom fishman fluence set and a 6 string Schecter Omen Extreme read more with the stock pups that sound great with a proper set up. Anyways i got the 7 string set first and found that I did not like the 7 string set over the higher output and clarity the ernie ball cobalt 10 62 gave me which is what I normally use. So strike one i thought. Next I put the 6 string set on my Schecter. I always reintonate after a string change even if it's the same gauge(in this case the 10 48 gauge was slightly heavier than the DRs i was using which were 10 46)....i know probably overboard but I want everything sounding top notch cause I have a sensitive ear and out of tune or off intonation guitars drive me crazy. Anyways at first I did not like the strings and took them off without being patient and letting them settle in awhile (but I saved them for string emergencys). The heavy cores were just different and after all this time with the DRs i was used to that feel and sound. Fast forward a week and I removed the DR set again to work on my guitars electronics (scratchy pot, loose ground). The locking tuners broke the d string at the kink so I was forced to put the Dunlop heavy core 10 48's back on, temporarily I thought. But this time everything I had wanted out of them was there. Notes come through so much clearer, the tension feels great also. It was night and day. I like them so much now that I will be using them for the foreseeable future. The Dunlops are bringing out a great tone from these stock pups in a more traditionally sought after way compared to the DRs. Also these heavy core dunlops sound great with the pups split to single coils. I would definently recommend these strings if you like me are looking for more clarity with your distortion tone and have been using a lighter string gauge. Just remember to let them settle in if your used to something else. Infact id recommend that for any new string or instrument your using for the first time. I know i can be too critical before ive had a chance to see what new things have to offer. This was a great lesson to wait things out and not rush to a conclusions.

Great for Gibson Scale

These strings are great on a 24.75" scale guitar. put them on my SG and solved all buzz issueds and can have super low action. High output as well, great strings

Great Hybrid set

These are great if you like using 46-9, the perfect step up from that. And not to mention great for Metal as well, super tight on the low end, but fine enough on the top end to do whole step bends easily. And even tunes a whole step down very well too. Its a good alternative to typical 11's.
