Glad I upgraded my EMG 81/85 Set with a 57TW/66TW Set
Back in Aug '20, I replaced the stock EMG 81/85 Set in my Schecter C-1 Platinum with the EMG 57TW/66TW Dual Mode Active Humbucker Set in Brushed Black Chrome. These pickups feature selectable single and dual-coil sounds using EMG's proprietary three coil design. The 57TW/66TW Set is amazing. It has tons of tones. The dual-coil crunchy rhythm tones are spanky and forceful, while… read more the overdriven lead tones sing out and easily cut through the mix. Even though the clean single-coil mode doesn't sound exactly like a Strat, the 57TW/66TC Set retains more volume and many of those beautiful glassy chimy higher frequencies that sound great with a touch of chorus and reverb. My other guitars are getting jealous because I can't put down my Schecter C-1 with the EMG 57TW/66TW Set. And the Brushed Black Chrome pickup covers are sexy as hell. Well done EMG.
