Solid and smooth
This is my first volume pedal and I researched options for a long time. The Dunlop DVP5 (X) 8 pedal is a nice size, swells are very smooth and linear, exactly what I was hoping for, adjustable tension is easy to adjust and very useful. I have not used the expression feature yet but likely will. It is very solid and stays put, looks to be very durable, no complaints so far. Very… read more happy!
It does exactly what I needed it to
I basically wanted a good quality volume pedal to do occasional swells , but mostly just to have control of the volume using my foot. It works superbly for both with a smooth and consistent increase/decrease. It also came with a bonus feature that allows me to also use it as an expression pedal on other effects using a different input and a TRS cable. I use it mainly as a… read more volume pedal, but the expression pedal option is a nice bonus. It appears to be very well built and works perfectly for my needs.
My first volume pedal
I play acoustic guitar and various other instruments, I'm not an electric player... yet... haha never say never. I've not considered buying a volume pedal until recently. As the COVID pandemic set in and I sat at home playing alone every day, a ditto looping pedal for guitar rhythm became my new friend. But chopping the rhythm loop off with the foot-switch is simply not subtle enough… read more for my liking. I wanted a way to fade the loop out instead of chopping it off with the foot-switch. After speaking with the folks at Sweetwater, I decided on the Dunlop DVP5 (X) 8. I'm giving this pedal 4 1/2 stars because it's the only volume pedal I've ever used so I have nothing else to compare it to. I like it a lot. It's ideal for my intended purpose. Fading out the guitar rhythm as I play some final notes on my flute at the end of a tune is really sweet. The only minor issue is the hinge started squeaking the first day but a touch of WD-40 with a toothpick solved that quickly and so far the squeak has not returned.
Perfect size for my Novo 18x14.5
It fits pedaltrain boards perfectly! I have the Novo 18x14.5, I down sized after having a huge board. This thing let me keep a whole extra pedal and to be honest the way it sounds swelling in and out is amazing, I've had three full size volume pedals and was worried about the size not allowing for a wide range of swells and volume level but this thing works better than all those… read more pedals. Not noticing any tone suck and could not be happier with the overall quality of this product!
It does it.
My wife doesn't like me playing loud on mt Deluxe reverb. So got this to be able to adjust the volume without getting up. does exactly what I want.
